North Korea Orders More Nuclear Tests

Kim Jong Un ordered North Korea’s military to conduct more nuclear tests, the state-run news agency KCNA reported Friday. The order reportedly came after Kim watched a ballistic-missile launch test. KCNA did not say when the test took place, but it was likely referring to Pyongyang’s launch of two short-range missiles into the sea on Thursday. Kim was quoted this week saying his country had miniaturized nuclear warheads to mount on ballistic missiles. Tensions have escalated since the North carried out its fourth nuclear test in January and fired a long-range rocket in February, prompting the United Nations Security Council to impose strict sanctions on the Hermit Kingdom.
