N.W.A. will not perform during their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction this Friday evening. "Nah, we’re not performing," founding member Ice Cube confirmed to The New York Times on Thursday. "I guess we really didn’t feel like we were supported enough to do the best show we could put on." Compton upstart Kendrick Lamar will induct the group, who will all be present for the ceremony (save for founding member Eazy-E, who died in 1995). According to Ice Cube, the performance isn't happening because of the ceremony's organizers: "We wanted to do it on a whole other level, and that just couldn’t happen," he said. "But we’re totally honored, humbled and appreciative to the Hall for even just considering us, inducting us and inviting us." The rappers, along with classic rock staples Deep Purple, Chicago, Steve Miller, and Cheap Trick, will be inducted Friday evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
