NY Dad Admits Killing Toddler Daughter Who Survived Cancer

A 25-year-old New York man on Thursday pleaded guilty to killing his toddler daughter and then dumping the body in a Syracuse creek. Ryan Lawrence admitted to beating his 21-month-old daughter to death with a baseball bat before burning her body to dispose of it. He faces first-degree murder charges in Onondaga County. Prosecutors say Lawrence had hinted at feeling jealous of his daughter over an outpouring of attention she received while battling cancer, which she survived. The child’s body was found back in February, about 36 hours after she was first reported missing. Lawrence will be sentenced to 25 years in prison as part of a plea deal announced in court on Thursday.
