NYPD: Cops Shoot Knife-Wielding Attacker

According to multiple reports, a man wielding a knife attacked an off-duty NYPD officer on Thursday afternoon outside Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan. Police officers reportedly fired upon the attacker, hitting him, and grazing one officer in the back with a bullet. The suspect, described by police sources as an “emotionally disturbed person,” reportedly attacked the officer with a hatchet following an initial altercation. The two injured officers were taken to Bellevue Hospital, along with the suspect, who is reportedly in critical condition.
