Cops aren’t immune from saying stupid things on Facebook: the NYPD finds itself in trouble once again after several police officers were observed disparaging partygoers at New York’s West Indian Day parade. In the thread, which featured both officers and civilians and included up to 150 people, cops appeared to call the celebrators “animals,” “savages,” and “filth.” “It’s not racist if it’s true,” said one apparent police officer, while another said, “Drop a bomb and wipe them all out.” (The officer whose name appeared beside this comment denies writing it.) The comment thread first surfaced last month, when criminal-defense attorneys put it before a Brooklyn jury. The same lawyers then provided a copy of the comments to The New York Times.
