Too slow, GOP. President Obama says he plans to act on immigration reform that focuses on the Mexican border with unspecified executive action because the Republicans in Congress are moving too slowly. According to Obama, House Speaker John Boehner told him last week that there won't be a vote on immigration this year. "I take executive action only when we have a serious problem, a serious issue, and Congress chooses to do nothing," Obama said at a press conference Monday. "And in this situation, the failure of House Republicans to pass a darn bill is bad for our security, it's bad for our economy and it's bad for our future." Obama will meet with advisers to see what he can do without congressional approval.
