Obama Faces Serious AR Primary Challenger

Opposition

More evidence of discontent.

Today, Kentucky and Arkansas hold their Democratic presidential-primary elections. While Obama is unopposed (except for the possibility of "uncommitted" voters) in Kentucky, in Arkansas he faces a challenger by the name of John Wolfe. Wolfe is a lawyer from Tennessee who was also on the ballot in Louisiana's Democratic presidential primary. According to a recent poll, Obama is only ahead of Wolfe by 7 points in one quarter of the state. The success of Democratic primary challengers—like the felon who fared so well against Obama in West Virginia recently—is a sign of discontent with the president in certain parts of the country within the Democratic Party.
