Obama: GOP Wants Special Interests to Lead

Bashes opponents in weekly address.

President Obama said Republicans “want to put special interests back in the driver's seat in Washington,” in his weekly address Saturday, again using that platform to attack his opponents ahead of the midterm elections. Obama acknowledged tough economic times, but said the economy is slowly making a comeback. The biggest danger to that recovery, the president said, is Republicans. In the Republican address, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) touted his party’s Pledge to America as a way to keep government from growing too far.
