In addition to insisting that the NSA’s not-so-top-secret spying program “is transparent,” President Obama countered the suggestion that he is “Bush-Cheney lite,” during his interview with Charlie Rose Monday night. The president pointed to his deliberation over taking action in Syria—which has also been criticized—as proof that his is a more thoughtful administration than the one before him. “We know what it’s like to rush into war in the Middle East without having thought it through,” he said.
