On the lighter side of things, today we asked, "If Romney is the Etch a Sketch candidate, what toy would President Obama be?"
Here are some of the responses:Captain America 29%Toy shovel (digging us out, but way too slowly) 13%A tranformer 13%A slinky 8%Goo slime 4%Batman: The Dark Knight 4%Woody 4%Posable Samurai action figure...wait, there already is one 4%
The commenters suggested other fascinating possibilities. One of the most creative and elaborate was Obama as the classic Space Invaders video game:
balconesfault: Clearly - Obama is like "Space Invaders" (after all, according to the majority of the GOP primary voters he's an alien, right?)
You can keep reflexively shooting at him. You can dodge bullets of logic and due process raining down. You might even "win", clearing the screen for a moment, thanks to a timely filibuster or Supreme Court decision.
To add to the analogy - in order to advance an agenda, Obama is flexible - and will move a little to the right, a little to the left, in order to respond to challenges and comments. But he's never going to go very far in either direction, which may seem to make him an easier target for those taking potshots at him from below ... but again that consistency is part of the code that makes him eventually successful.
But eventually, he gets you. Because the game plays with well-written code, and you're responding just with reflex and emotion.
Or there's Obama as Navy SEAL action figure:
Robert H. For better or worse Obama's biggest effect has been transform America's military to a vigilante avenger whose goal is to select and kill individual bad guys in the middle of the night.
