Obama: Let’s Build Some Roads

They’re not just roads—they’re highways to prosperity. That’s the argument President Obama brought to Miami on Friday, promoting a plan that would pour billions of dollars into the nation’s infrastructure in order to jumpstart the economy and create jobs. And there’s certainly plenty to do. Obama wants to start with a “Fix-It-First” program that would pump $40 billion into the nation’s most crumbling public works, then enact various tax incentives, loans, and grants to get the private sector involved. Of course, Congress would have to sign off on these ideas first. Bridge to nowhere?
