Does the bully pulpit work with foreign countries? President Obama spoke at the U.N. on Thursday, calling on Arab states to support peace talks between Israel and Palestine. He called on Israel to extend the moratorium on settlement construction in the West Bank that will expire this weekend. He also had tough words for Iran, calling on the Iranian government to “confirm to the world the peaceful intent of its nuclear program.”
