President Obama may be facing sinking poll numbers, but there’s no stopping his fundraising abilities. According to the FEC filings that were due Saturday at midnight, Obama raised $42 million in the third quarter—more than Mitt Romney and Rick Perry combined. Despite Perry's poor performances at the Republican debates, the Texas governor raked in $17.2 million, coming in ahead of Romney, who raised $14.2 million. Herman Cain may have newfound celebrity status, but the pizza magnate raised only $2.8 million, although this appears to be enough to repay his loans and keep the campaign afloat. Newt Gingrich raised only $808,000 while carrying a debt of $1.2 million, leaving his campaign in the red.
