Maybe Rick Santorum will call Obama a jerk now for correcting him. The president was understandably a bit peeved about the GOP contender calling him a “snob” who’s trying to “indoctrinate” young people by encouraging them to go to college, which is apparently filled with liberal professors. Since Santorum’s statement wasn’t very accurate, the POTUS went out of his way to talk about it during a speech to the nation’s governors Monday. “I have to make a point here,” Obama said. “When I speak about higher education, we are not just talking about a four-year degree.” In fact, what the president said in 2009 was this: “I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. This can be community college or a four-year school; vocational training or an apprenticeship. But whatever the training may be, every American will need to get more than a high-school diploma.” When asked to comment, a spokeswoman for Santorum said: “We’re glad that the president clarified that after Rick pointed that out. That’s exactly what Rick was saying.” Wait … who pointed that out first?
