Former President Barack Obama has reportedly agreed to speak at an upcoming Wall Street conference for a fee of $400,000. Top officials from Cantor Fitzgerald LP, the New York-based investment bank that organized the conference, told Fox Business that Obama is slated to be the keynote speaker at a luncheon held during a health care conference in September. The final details are still being worked out before an official announcement is made, though the company confirmed that Obama has signed a deal. During his time in the White House, Obama was outspoken in his criticism of big banks, whose “irresponsible actions on Wall Street” he blamed for the 2008 financial crisis and subsequent recession. The conference may also give the former president the chance to share his thoughts on the Affordable Care Act at a time when the current administration is fighting to repeal and replace it.
