Barack Obama is going after women, Hispanics, seniors, and young-adult voters in Nevada, and he’s using pieces of his health-care legislation to attract them. His campaign hopes to gain support by launching Nurses for Obama in Nevada, which will promote the law, and through phone calling, and door-to-door canvassing. “In two years, every single American, regardless of their circumstances, will have access to affordable, quality health insurance,” said a spokesman for the president’s reelection campaign in Nevada. “Presidents have been trying to make that happen for 70 years. President Obama got it done.” Certain parts of the law, such as coverage for preexisting medical conditions, prohibitions on lifetime coverage caps, and free preventive care, have strong voter appeal.
