Obama Turns Attention to Jobs

Perhaps he has been reading up on debt-ceiling op-eds from the British press? President Obama didn't waste a minute after the Senate passed his debt measure before switching gears entirely, shifting his focus to jobs. "We can't balance the budget on the backs of the very people who have borne the brunt of this recession," the president said while addressing the nation on Tuesday. He promised to fight for "new jobs, higher wages, and faster economic growth." Standing in front of the White House, Obama pushed for Congress to ratify trade agreements, get the FAA back up and running, and get to work on patent reform.
