TROPICAL STORM

Obama Warns of Isaac

President Obama addressed Tropical Storm Isaac on Tuesday morning as forecasters warned that the storm was likely to become a full-fledged hurricane before it makes landfall later today. Obama said that FEMA officials have been on the ground in Puerto Rico and the Gulf Coast states for more than a week preparing for flooding and other emergency scenarios. That being said, the president warned that "now is not the time to tempt fate." “I want to encourage all residents of the Gulf Coast to listen to your local officials and follow their directions” in the event of an emergency, Obama said.
