Nikki Glaser is officially returning to host next year’s Golden Globes, and fans of her first stint earlier this winter couldn’t be more excited.
It was announced this morning that the comedian will reprise her role as emcee for the 83rd annual Golden Globes in January 2026. When Glaser hosted the telecast earlier this year, she became the first woman to do so solo.
For the past few years, the award show has been declining in viewership due to a mix of lackluster hosts and allegations of corruption within the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which selects the winners. But this year’s Glaser-led event was hailed one of the most entertaining awards shows in years, earning rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
A review from The Rolling Stone praised Glaser for truly understanding the appeal of the Globes, writing: “Nikki Glaser gets what the Globes are all about: packing famous people into the Beverly Hills Hilton, plying them with booze, then letting the Hollywood vanity run wild.”
The Daily Beast also gave Glaser a shout-out for her ability to strike a balance between “edgy one-liners” and goofy skits, culminating in a show that seemed to be as enjoyable for the A-listers in the room as it was for viewers at home.
When the announcement dropped this morning about Glaser’s return, fans began to celebrate on X.
“We love good news,” one X user wrote.
“She killed it! It only makes sense. Happy for Nikki,” another fan commented.
“Hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career,” Glaser said in a statement, before going on to joke that she is excited to host again, but “this time in front of the team from The White Lotus who will finally recognize my talent and cast me in Season Four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past.”
After years of fumbling the ball, The Golden Globes is finally ready to reclaim its title as the only fun award show in Hollywood.
