Octopus Escapes Aquarium, Crawls to Ocean

Inky the octopus, a now ex-resident of New Zealand's National Aquarium, reportedly slipped out of his tank and crawled his way over to a drain pipe through which he escaped into the ocean. Aquarium staff found suction-cup tracks leading from the tank to the six-inch drain. The escape happened three months ago but only became public this week. Inky had lived at the aquarium since 2014.
