Can anyone wait to see the Saturday Night Live parody of this one? Delaware Senate candidates Christine O’Donnell and Chris Coons faced off in Newark, Delaware for their first mano-a-mano debate—launching a feisty showdown, laced with barbs. Democrat Coons emphasized his experience as a county executive, and called out Republican and Tea Party favorite O’Donnell’s extreme views, as well as her well-known statements about dabbling in witchcraft. O’Donnell took this lightly, saying, “You’re just jealous you weren’t on Saturday Night Live.” Coons shot back: “I’m dying to see who plays me.” On the actual issues, O’Donnell accused Coons of raising taxes and said he’d be a definite “yes” vote for all of President Obama’s legislation.
