A corrections officer was kidnapped after a suspect escaped from custody on Wednesday in Polk County, Florida. The group was at a work camp when an inmate overpowered the officer and then locked another four inmates in a building. He allegedly stole a truck, kidnapped the officer, and led authorities on a multi-county manhunt. The suspect was ultimately recaptured, and the officer was freed without injury, according to local reports.
