According to Israeli officials, 12 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip into Israel a mere hour after a ceasefire was announced. The truce went into effect 9 p.m. on Wednesday, after eight days of violence that has left more than 140 Palestinians and five Israelis dead near the Gaza Strip. The rockets reportedly landed in open areas, causing no damage and, according to an Israeli military spokesman, some were even intercepted by an anti-missile system. It is still unclear what the attack means for the ceasefire.
