Officials to Pursue Death Penalty in Killing of Nabra Hassanen

Virginia prosecutors will pursue the death penalty in the case against a man accused of killing 17-year-old Nabra Hassanen, who was attacked while walking to her mosque in June, Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Raymond F. Morrogh announced Monday. A grand jury indicted 22-year-old Darwin Martinez Torres on eight counts, including capital murder and rape. He also stands accused of abducting her with the intent to defile and object sexual penetration.
