O.J. Simpson caught a break today when a Nevada parole board decided in favor of his request for leniency in his 2008 kidnapping and robbery convictions involving a 2007 stickup of memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel. In his hearing last week, the former football star told the board he regretted his actions and has been a model prisoner. “I just wish I never went to that room,” he said at the meeting. While Simpson’s lawyer says he’s “very happy and grateful,” he won’t be packing his bags just yet. He still has a remaining portion of his sentence to serve: at least four years.
