One Hospital Caused Half of MERS Cases

UNHEALTHY

Suspends its services.

Nearly half of the cases in the South Korean outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) have been traced to a single hospital in Seoul, the Samsung Medical Center. In addition, health officials have announced seven new cases, which brings the total number of known cases to 145. Out of those 145, 15 have died from the virus. "We apologise for causing great concern as Samsung Medical Center became the centre of the spread of MERS," said Samsung Medical Center president Song Jae-hoon. As a result, not visitors will be allowed, it will stop treating outpatients and admitting new patients.
