Some questions are better left unasked.

About 32 percent of Republicans don’t think Muslims should be allowed to serve in the U.S. military, according a new survey by Public Policy Polling.

That survey, which questioned 505 Republicans throughout the country, also showed that 49 percent believed Muslims should be allowed to serve, while 19 percent weren’t sure.

Perhaps not surprisingly, most of those who favored including Muslims were John Kasich supporters, while many of those who opposed it supported Donald Trump or Ted Cruz.

Trump has called for all Muslims to be banned from immigrating to the United States, while Cruz recommended after the Brussels terrrorist attacks that police patrol all Muslim neighborhoods.

There are currently 5,900 U.S. service members who identify as Muslim.
