New research from Ofcom, the U.K.’s broadcasting regulator, finds that young people are increasingly turning toward streaming services to watch television. The regulators found that just half of all viewing among 16- to 24-year-olds is through traditionally scheduled TV. Online streaming services such as Amazon and Netflix, as well as YouTube, are increasingly being preferred to consume video. This marks a larger trend of entertainment and news content moving online. Ofcom finds “consuming news online is becoming more commonplace.”
