Michael Mastromarino, the dental surgeon who was convicted of harvesting organs and tissues from bodies without consent, died on Sunday from complications of metastatic liver cancer. The 49-year-old was still serving a prison term for his crimes, which included selling body parts from donors that had communicable dieseases like HIV. Mastromarino, who lost his dental license in 2002 because of a drug addiction, pleased guilty to numerous charges in 2008 and agreed to pay $4.6 million to the victims' families.
