This is ... something. The New York Times Magazine presents “Wide-Awake,” a collection of 13 videos featuring actresses “whose performances defined the year in film.” What exactly does that mean? Well, Jennifer Lawrence, seemingly dressed like Britney Spears in full snake-charming gear, rolls around with a garden hose. Rebel Wilson sleeps on the ground while little kids pelt her with balls—then she goes swimming. It’s all very dramatic. Other actresses include Keira Knightley, Kerry Washington, Marion Cotillard, and Beasts of the Sourthern Wild’s little star, Quvenzhané Wallis.
