Pakistan Frees Former President

A few days after a court granted former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf bail, he was released from house arrest. Musharraf, a controversial former president and army chief, was under house arrest for his role in the death of a radical cleric who died during an incursion into a fundamentalist mosque in Islamabad. While Musharraf is now free to move about Pakistan, he is banned from leaving the country. He is also involved in cases ranging from the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto as well as the detention of Pakistan’s judges.
