Pakistan Recovers 31 Drowned Bodies

The total of corpses brought out of the seas off Karachi now stands at 31, after 10 more were recovered Friday. The bodies are from people who drowned Wednesday after ignoring a ban on swimming in Karachi during the monsoon season. Thousands had gone to the beaches to celebrate the Eid-al-Fitr holiday, which signals the end of the holy month of Ramadan. "We will continue the search operation as we are still not sure about the number of missing picnickers," said a city official.
