Palestinian Gunman Kills Four Israelis in West Bank
Hamas claims responsibility.
This is a terrible way to kick off the peace talks between Israel and Palestine set for later this week: A Palestinian gunman killed four Israelis, including a pregnant woman, after shooting up a vehicle traveling through the West Bank on Tuesday. The attack took place near Hebron, where some 500 ultranationalist Jewish settlers live among 100,000 Palestinians. Islamic militant group Hamas later claimed responsibility for the attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on his way to Washington for the peace talks, which begin Wednesday.
