A Palestinian teenager was shot dead after she attempted to stab Israeli police officers in Jerusalem, officials said. According to police, the teenage girl, 16-year-old Fatima Hajiji, approached uniformed officers at the Damascus Gate, the secure entrance to Jerusalem’s Old City, and pulled out a knife before she was shot. Hajiji was a resident of the Qarawat Bani Zeid village, the Palestinian health ministry said. Israeli police officers were reportedly unharmed in the incident.
