David Kernell, the 22-year-old son of a Democratic Tennessee lawmaker, might have a very long time to think about just how interesting Sarah Palin’s personal emails really were. While Palin campaigned in Michigan in 2008, Kernell hacked her “gov.palin” Yahoo email account and now faces up to 50 years in jail for identity theft, mail fraud, and two other felony charges. On Friday, Palin testified that the email account, accessed via a red BlackBerry, was her primary means of communicating with her family from the campaign trail. She also said that she only found it had been hacked after hearing it on the news and having it confirmed by her campaign manager and the Secret Service. Her daughter Bristol subsequently received harassing calls and text messages on her cell phone.
