The woman who hosted a contest to draw the Prophet Muhammad in Texas that was attacked by two gunmen Sunday says they proved she’s right. “This terrible incident reflects the need for such conferences,” Pamela Geller told CNN on Monday morning. “Increasingly, we’re abridging our freedoms as to not offend savages,” she said, criticizing the “elite media” and “academia.” Geller said she agreed with Dutch politician Geert Wilders, who served as the keynote speaker and said Islam is humorless. “There is no humor,” she said. “There is a problem in Islam and the problem is that we can’t talk about the problem.” The Southern Poverty Law Center calls Geller the “anti-Muslim movement’s most visible and flamboyant figurehead.”
