Hollywood box offices exhibited some abnormal activity this weekend. Paranormal Activity 3 was in first place, with $54 million in ticket sales. Paramount Pictures, which financed the film, says that it’s the biggest opening for a horror film ever—without accounting for inflation. The film reportedly cost only $5 million to make, and banked off of positive reviews. With next week leading up to Halloween, the film may see even more profit.
