Is Paul Ryan riding high from his budget victory? The conservative Wisconsin Republican congressman endorsed Mitt Romney for president on Fox and Friends Friday morning. The endorsement will come just four days ahead of Wisconsin’s Republican primary, where Romney has a 7-point lead over Rick Santorum, according to a NBC News/Marist poll released Friday. One GOP source called the timing of Ryan’s endorsement critical, since he recently finished his stint as the chair of the Republican National Committee presidential trust—which barred him from picking a favorite in the race.
