The woman whose lawsuit sparked the flames that torched Paula Deen's career is speaking out and she says her complaint had nothing to do with race. In a statement from her lawyers, plaintiff Lisa Jackson said, “This lawsuit has never been about the N-word, it is to address Ms. Deen’s patterns of disrespect and degradation of people that she deems to be inferior.” Jackson’s suit alleges both the butter-loving chef and her brother Bubba committed acts of violence, discrimination, and racism while she was in their employ as a manager, charges that Deen denies.
