Pence: Enough Talk About ‘Institutional Bias’ in Police

So much for the Trump campaign’s outreach to black voters. While appearing at a town-hall event Thursday afternoon in Colorado Springs, Mike Pence told reporters that “Trump and I believe there’s been far too much talk about institutional bias and racism within law enforcement.” The Republican VP nominee’s comments came in response to recent police shootings that have led to national protests, including ones that turned violent Wednesday evening in Charlotte. “We ought to set aside this talk” during such a “troubling time,” Pence added, before claiming that faith is required to heal the divide between law-enforcement officers and minority communities.
