Penguin Books has become the last of the five major publishers to reach a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice over an alleged e-books price-fixing lawsuit. Penguin, Hachette, Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, and Macmillan were accused of colluding with computer giant Apple to fix the price of e-books to compete with Amazon's low $10 tag. Penguin will pay $75 million to reimburse consumers. Currently Apple is the only remaining defendant in the DOJ case, which is scheduled to go to trial in June.
