Penn State has reportedly made its first settlement to one of the victims of Jerry Sandusky, the former assistant football coach who is now serving a 30 to 60 prison sentence for child sexual abuse. Victim 5, who testified at Sandusky’s criminal trial, agreed to terms with the university, reportedly for millions. The school confirmed a settlement had been made, but did not comment on how much it was for. Victim 5 is among 26 expected settlements out of 31 young men who have pursued claims against the university. Alumni trustee Edward Brown said in July the monetary settlements would most likely total around $60 million.
