Rick Perry and the pundits can agree on something: Perry told reporters that “debates are not my strong suit” after another weak performance at Tuesday’s Republican debate. Jonathan Bernstein at the Plum Line agrees: “There’s just no getting around it: Rick Perry’s inept performances are dominating these debates.” On Tuesday, Perry failed to take a swipe at Romney when asked about health care and once again garbled his answers to questions—that is, when the moderators even bothered asking him. Nate Silver predicts that Perry will take a more aggressive approach next week at the debate in Nevada, which, with Iowa and New Hampshire slipping away, may be Perry’s best path to the presidency.
