Phantom Tollbooth Author Writes New Book

Books

The Odious Ogre released 50 years later.

Children who loved The Phantom Tollbooth when it first came out are now nearing retirement age, but hopefully they’re not too old for a second helping: Tollbooth author Norton Juster and illustrator Jules Feiffer have a new book—their first since they wrote and illustrated The Phantom Tollbooth 50 years ago. It’s the story of “a really big, really cranky guy and the girl who refuses to be scared of him,” according to the Christian Science Monitor. Juster says he’s been working on the book on and off for more than 30 years.
