Planned Parenthood Clinic Set on Fire

A Planned Parenthood clinic in Pullman, Washington, that caught fire early Friday was arson, according to law enforcement officials. The local fire department and joint terrorism task force determined the fire was purposeful, though no suspects have been named as of this time. Planned Parenthood has come under intense criticism following erroneous claims by right-wing groups that it was "selling" fetal tissue. "This is an appalling act of violence towards Planned Parenthood," the group's CEO in the Pacific Northwest said, "but unfortunately a predictable ripple effect from the false and incendiary attacks that fuel violence from extremists." The Pullman clinic does not provide abortion services, only referrals to abortion providers. The fire caused structural damage, requiring services to be moved off site.
