Before there were kiss cams, there was ice cream. In 1989 Barack Obama took Michelle to the Baskin-Robbins in Hyde Park, where they sat eating ice cream on the curb. It was a first date and a night he’d never forget. “I kissed her and it tasted like chocolate,” Obama told O magazine. Now the owners of the Chicago shopping center have installed a 3,000-pound boulder to commemorate the spot. With a picture of the couple’s face and a quote about the night, a plaque reads, “On this site Barack Obama first kissed Michelle Obama.” Can’t be bad for business.
