A day after The New York Times reported that Pakistani officials knew Osama bin Laden was in their country, the current prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, got his priorities in order by having the three policemen guarding his home suspended for negligence after one of his peacocks was eaten by a cat. The remains of the peacock were found by a gardener on the lawn of the residence. According to one of the officers punished, 21 constables in total were brought forward to explain themselves, 18 were cleared. Sharif’s house is in Raiwind, in the outskirts of Lahore.
