Geert Wilders, the outspoken anti-Islam Dutch politician, will be charged with discrimination and inciting hatred against Moroccans, prosecutors announced Thursday. In March, Wilders led an anti-Moroccan chant in a cafe in The Hague that was broadcast nationally, triggering 6,400 complaints to police. Wilders had asked supporters if they wanted more or fewer Moroccans, which began the chant: “Fewer! Fewer! Fewer!” To which he responded, “We’ll take care of that,” and later referred to “Moroccan scum.” His party tops opinion polls in the Netherlands. “I said what millions of people think and believe,” he said in a statement Thursday. “The public prosecutors should be going after jihadis instead of me.”
