Advertisers aren’t the only ones using Facebook apps for shady purposes: Police in Italy are investigating the burglary of a woman’s virtual home on the Facebook game Pet Society. Paolo Letizia had spent over $100 on furniture for her seven-room flat when someone hacked into her account and sold all of her possessions, except for her cat. “I don’t think it matters that the flat only exists in Facebook. It is real to me and I have suffered a real loss,” Letizia said.
