Ferguson authorities released new surveillance footage on Tuesday purporting to show a teenager pulling a gun from his wasitband just before he was shot and critically injured by plainclothes officers. The St. Louis County Police Department identified the person in the footage as 18-year-old Tyrone Harris Jr., who was shot after he allegedly opened fire on police Monday. Harris was in Ferguson as part of a demonstration marking the one-year anniversary of the death of Michael Brown. Harris’s father has called the police description of events “a bunch of lies” and said two girls who were with his son at the time told him the teen was unarmed. Prosecutors have charged Harris with 10 felonies, including four counts of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer. He remains in critical condition.
